After a consultation has been arranged, the patient will come to the office and we will evaluate the condition of the toenails.
If there is any question as to whether you have fungal nails or not, we will do a painless biopsy. The nail clipping gets sent to our lab to see if there is fungus in the nail.
If the biopsy is negative we will tell you that the laser will not work. If we decide that laser treatment is not the best option for your unique situation, we will let you know. We do not perform lasers on people that can’t be cured by the treatment, or would have more success being treated in a different manner. If laser treatment is not the best course of action, we will help you figure out the best way to treat your nail condition. It’s important to make sure the condition really is fungus before treating with a laser or the treatments won’t be successful.
If we determine that the problem is fungus, laser treatment can start immediately. If a biopsy is needed, the results take about one week to get back to our office and treatment will begin right after that.
There are actually several problems that resemble fungus, but are in fact not fungus at all. Treating a problem that isn’t fungus with a laser is a waste of time and money; it’s something ethical doctors avoid. Our goal is to help you with your nail condition as quickly and effectively as possible, even if it means we do not perform the laser.
I have been completing treatment for toenail fungus with a laser since the technology was first available on the market…
When the technology first came out I was not very impressed with the results of the laser procedure. Only about half of my patients saw results after a treatment and the cost was high, $1200 per treatment! This was something I discussed with each patient prior to the service being completed and even with the 50% success rate; several people were willing to try the procedure.
When the Cutera Genesis laser came out, the laser nail fungus treatment was revolutionized. The Cutera is 80 watts strong compared to the original PinPointe’s 4 watts. This means the results are better and the treatment much faster. I also discovered that utilizing topical treatments with laser procedures is the best and most effective means of treating nail fungus. It has also come to my attention that most people need three treatments to get results they are happy with. The new laser, combination treatment, and increase from one treatment to three has increased success rates to about 70%, which is just below antifungal medicines such as Lamisil. However, lasers do not come with the same side effects. In fact, lasers are much safer and easier. Today I can do a series of three treatments for just $900.
Below I have posted pictures of a patients nails that were treated three times with the Cutera Laser. I also used topical NailPure for six months. I had also ground down the nail to remove as much nail as possible prior to starting the laser.
You can clearly see how well the big toe nail is much clearer. The third and fourth toes are also much more white in color now.

The technology utilized by the doctors at Laser Toenail Fungus Treatment NYC is the Cutera Laser. This laser uses the most modern technology to kill fungus on nails. Studies have shown that the laser is very effective against toenail fungus and the laser is FDA approved as well.
At Laser Toenail Fungus Treatment NYC, a series of three laser treatments is just $900, compared to $1,800 or more per visit at most other offices in the area. It has been shown that having three separate treatments produces better results than only getting one treatment.

We use the most advanced Laser for nail fungus:The Cutera Genesis Laser is 80 Watts. This is 20 times more powerful than the first generation of FDA approved lasers for nail fungus. The Cutera Genesis 1064nm laser is a safe and effective option for treatment of nail fungus. The heat generated by the laser penetrates deep inside the nail where the fungus resides. It kills the fungus that causes nail disease (Dermatophytes). It is relatively painless. Most patients report feeling some heat and occasional discomfort. The heat does not damage the surrounding skin. The laser procedure is done in our office and takes 20-40 minutes depending on how many nails are effected. No anesthesia or pain killers are necessary and patients may return to normal activity and work immediately after the procedure with zero down-time. |
